Meeting two friends and authors in London
I first met both Asia Dimitrova and Maria Jose Rodriguez in Huelva, Spain in February of 2008 at the Essence Foundation Course led by its Founder, Systemic Psychotherapist and Psychologist Dr Menis Yousry. Essence designs and facilitates highly practical, experiential, self-development courses. Dr Yousry left his post as a Senior Family Therapist with the NHS in order to bring his work to a wider audience and he has now trained tens of thousands of people around the world and authored a book, "Discover Your Hidden memory and Find the Real You".
My interest in attending was connected to my being a Family and Children Lawyer and building on my Holistic approach to Legal Practice. Asia, Maria Jose and I instantly connected and have been in contact ever since, spending time together over the years in Gibraltar, Spain or London.
I have to congratulate both Asia and Maria Jose for having achieved their goal of publishing their respective books:
Asia published 'Autism- A Sign of Natural Evolution'. The book offers a radically new concept, an insight into the Autistic world, that can provide a greater understanding and on this basis to apply to all cases new ways of looking at it and connect with a child on the spectrum. The challenge for all specialists is not being able to see, live and feel what an autistic person does, and put those experiences into words. This is what Asia offers. She has since the publication of her book, been a guest Speaker at numerous events on Autism around U.K.
Maria Jose published, 'La fybromyalgia salvo mi vida', (Fybromyalgia saved my life). It is biographical and explores her journey to find healing and freeing herself from Fybromyalgia, after being diagnosed at the age of 38 and suffering for over a decade, having tried many traditional solutions.
Both have generously included me in their Acknowledgment pages; Asia's dedication reads, 'Amber Turner... for letting me practice my talent on them and sharing theirs with me'; and Maria Jose's reads (English translation) 'To my friends...Amber Turner... and to all who have connected from heart to heart'.
