The Best You Expo, London Olympia

16 February 2018

Practising Holistic Law is a commitment to continued improvement of myself, in order to give the best of me to my clients and to work to my fullest potential in the management of and the representation to the Courts/ Tribunal of, my clients’ multi-faceted cases.

In order to ‘grow’ and ‘learn’, I therefore need to experience new things, places, people and generally take myself to the edge of and beyond my ‘comfort zone’. The Best You Expo, founded by Bernardo Moya is an event which provides a wide and high energy platform for just that!

I picked up new tools such as the Best Me Life Journal, created by both Calum Best and Mark Joseph, based on a daily mindfulness practice towards productivity.

Calum Best and Mark Joseph

I was inspired by Speaker, Success Coach and Author Judymay Murphy, who is also an expert in Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Co-Dependency. I learned valuable information from her to take my understanding of the dynamics of these dysfunctional and damaging relationships even deeper, as well as better prepare myself to support the mental and emotional health of many of my Employment and Family clients in this category, during their legal process.

Paul McKenna

World’s number one hypnotherapist Paul McKenna was a headline Speaker. He is renowned for helping people treat their most difficult problems (much like us lawyers do in our own field!) Hypnotherapy is a tool I include for my clients’ toolbox and learning from the Guru of Hypnotherapy directly was a privilege.

The Best You Expo also provided the opportunity for me to network beyond Gibraltar’s frontiers by my joining the Global Woman Club, founded by the amazing Mirela Sula. I also met Director Connie-Lee Bennett, Aida Noor and Anna- Karin Horneij.

All in all, it was a delightful learning and networking experience combined with high inspiration and fun. My message is: in order to think outside the box, take yourself outside the box- that is, you can learn so much about being a more effective lawyer in your field or practice by taking yourself outside the strictly legal professional development remit and by delving into the personal development world; as we are all, including our clients, human after all!
