Global Woman Catwalk Event at Designer Diane Von Furstenberg's Boutique, Mayfair, London
It was very exciting and fun to be part of Mirela’s afternoon Catwalk Event at the Boutique of Designer Diane Von Furstenberg, in Mayfair, London. Mirela Sula, founder of Global Woman and her wonderful team of beautiful professional ladies at the London Best You in February 2018 was a blessing. I have since expanded my global network and made meaningful connections with many ladies who I can now call friends and who share a common desire to positively impact others as part of their work in the world.
How we show up and present ourselves to the world matters, both personally because it is linked to our level of self-esteem and self-worth and professionally because it will tell clients how organised and self-confident we are. We also want to be prepared for those unexpected moments of opportunity to both look and feel, ‘the part’ we are playing in our life mission/ work.
To help support this goal of exploring our own personal style and to make the most of our potential for expressing our authentic selves, we spent an afternoon browsing through rails of clothes and in and out of the changing rooms to find the outfit that we felt most comfortable in, both physically and emotionally too! Then we got ready to walk the Catwalk in our chosen outfits to literally walk-through how what you wear can influence your mood, thoughts and confidence and therefore your results in business.
At the close of the event, I was interviewed by Global Woman and explained that as Lawyers, “We spend a lot of time in our minds. But our bodies, our presentation, the way we do business with people is also important. And if you have confidence in the way you look, it makes you feel happy. And that's what success is all about: being happy.” I shared this as my definition of success is derived from the wise Maya Angelou’s quote: "Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it”.
